For Sale: 1987 Excel SE

Excel SE: 1987 BRG, tan full leather, good condition but needs a little tidying to bring it to a high standard. Refurbished OZ wheels with new Dunlops. Fitted 3.7 diff making it a great tourer. Mechanically very good but needs work to door locks and other cosmetic items. Taxed to July ’08 and MOT to end Feb ’09.
Great car for £2,000 ono.

Lotus Books: Lotus Elan (Wherrett), Elan & Plus 2 (Robinshaw/Ross), Lotus Twin Cam (Miles Wilkins), Lotus Esprit Complete Story (Walton). All in as new condition - £40 the lot.

I have been the only owner from new, at time of purchase extras included driving lights, leather seats, radio fitting kit and Thatcham category 1 Alarm. Personalised plate S31LSE purchased through DVLA and fitted to vehicle from new (was offered £800 to sell to another Elise owner recently but decided to leave it on car).

Full Lotus Service History till car assigned technician left for touring car work. Kept in touch and same engineer serviced for next 2 years. All common faults sorted including head gasket. Replaced with competition head gasket and steel dowels, also took the opportunity to change water pump, cam belt and block bolts. Clutch hose re-routed to remove gear change issue. New headlight brackets.

EBC Greenstuff brake Pads
Alloy window winders and heating controls, gear gate.
Stainless steel "guaranteed for life" Janspeed sports exhaust with oval exit pipe.
Replaced Air Filter with K&N Filter Charger (Original Filter Box supplied)
Replaced plastic (sticky) throttle body with replacement Sport 160 Throttle body (Aluminium)
Tyres are Yokohama A539 Front and (very recent) Toyo Proxies Rear.
Upgraded sound system which plays mp3 and includes amplifier and 8" sub woofer.

Includes fitted garage cover in red with Lotus logo, Autocar and other test magazines, original brochure plus any other things I have that are Lotus related.

It's a genuine reason for sale having two children, I don't want to let it go but I can't keep it garaged (currently in next doors garage whilst he's away on business) and our home has recently been extended and garage has had to go.

This is now a 10 year old car and there is some stone chipping at the front & around the rear arches, the drivers seat also has some wear.

No test drives will be given without proof of fully comp insurance on the vehicle.

Calypso Red with full sand leather, CD player, air con and removable glass roof. Regularly serviced by Lotus specialist and very well maintained.
